How our programmes & events have impacted our members

Research Concierge

Working with community-centric, for-purpose and for-profit organisations, Research Concierge provides a range of data-driven research services. The business owner participated in the Pathway to High Growth programme following earlier engagement with MSDUK. The course was clear and focused, and the business particularly benefits from the peer-to-peer mentoring aspects and the collateral development. The owner has gone on to use the pitch they developed in three speaker session and has used the capability statement in multiple proposals.

Kemp Services

With over 30 years of experience providing cleaning services across the UK, Kemp Services applied to MBM as they felt that ‘it offered good opportunities to get new ideas and find out how peer businesses were working’.

Directly winning new business from their participation in the programme was not an expectation, but the business has benefits from interactions with other participants on the Accelerator programme and has been using the capability statement it developed in other pitches. They enjoyed the in-person delivery format but would love to do a longer more in-depth version of the course in the future.

Langley Search and Interim

Langley Search have placed over 40,000 talented employees in procurement, commercial and supply chain roles in 26 sectors around the world.

Long-term members of MSDUK, the organisation participated in the Foundations for Responsible Business Programme after registering for Minority Business Matters in 2023. The leadership team saw it as an opportunity to ‘unlock business opportunities around responsible business’ by demonstrating they were on a responsible business journey.

The programme facilitated a number of useful introductions to buyers, one of whom Langley Search have made successful placements with. The programme has been valuable in providing introductions and networking opportunities.

Onepoint

Onepoint helps enterprise clients with digital transformations by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), managing data, and building scalable digital architectures.

A certified MSDUK diverse supplier and long-standing member, Onepoint have attended various MBM events and participated in the Foundations for Responsible Business Programme. They found their participation useful for structuring the businesses’ approach to sustainability and found the guidance very helpful. The networking and opportunities to meet procurement teams at meetings was a particular highlight and, while there have been no quantifiable impacts yet, the business has progressed with its ESG initiatives as a result.

The business would have liked to have more opportunities to make connections with buyers and felt that some of the ESG certifications that were talked about in the training were too ‘intensive’ for SMEs to achieve, and they sought advice elsewhere on this topic.

“We got quite a lot out of [the programme]. It is a good place to meet people and set up new connections. Would certainly give them a thumbs up.”

The Business Storytelling Centre

The Business Storytelling Centre is a boutique leadership development organisation working with global brands to attract, retain, and engage talent.

As the CEO and founder of the company, Beatrice Kabutakapua took part in the Pathway to High Growth programme, which, she says “was incredibly helpful in connecting with stakeholders and pitching our service. It has been great to have the right to support to create our capability statement and to refine our pitch”.

Subsequently, Beatrice was able to showcase her business and share her entrepreneurial journey with the Minority Business Matters community and corporates as a panellist and speaker at MSDUK events.

Gazelle Global

Specialists in IT, Finance, and Sustainability Recruitment, Gazelle Global is a thriving EMB operating across the UK, Europe & North America. Seeking to sharpen their competitive edge, they joined MBM through their MSDUK membership and participated in the 2024 Pathway to High Growth Programme.

Gazelle’s leadership team aimed to refine their capability statements and master the art of persuasive pitching. The programme’s hands-on approach—culminating in a high-stakes pitch to peers and procurement experts—proved to be an invaluable experience. The participant shared, “The course provided incredible tools, and I was able to put my own spin on them.”

Their participation has already translated into tangible success. Two of the global corporations they pitched to are now major clients, and negotiations with another are progressing positively.

Reflecting on the programme’s impact, Gazelle Global described it as “one of the best business and development decisions I’ve ever made—nothing short of phenomenal!”
